Hey Earthlings….hope you are all well
I got the privilege of visiting this hotel Silver Palm Spa & Resort, when it was brand new and fell in love and made a note to come back and take more photos and stay.
That opportunity came last weekend, if you read my staycation introduction, that you will know this was the opportunity, I have been working towards…
So let’s get into the review.
Surrounded by Palms trees throughout the property, Silver Palm Spa & Resort is located in Kilifi Count which is a 1-2hr drive from Mombasa on Bofa Road. Check-in is around 1 pm and you will be welcomed by complimentary Madafu(coconut water) that is cold and is the one thing everyone is told to have when they are on the coast.
The Silver Palm Spa & Resort has a lot of Swahili, Arabic structure to its meaning, they are a lot of beautiful arches and Swahili accented throughout the hotel.
The pool is surrounded, with palm trees and it is the main attractions, of the hotel because it is the first thing you see once you leave the main building, and you venture to where the rooms are located.
What makes Silver Palm Spa & Resort unique is that some of the rooms, are connected to the pool, meaning you can walk from the small veranda directly into the pool. ( sidenote when this collaboration was agreed upon, I would have happy with an ordinary executive room but colored my surprise when I got my room and it was one I would have picked for myself)
I am in love with the bed, if you follow my photography Instagram page, you will know that I am falling in love with interior aspects of interior design, and am chalking it up to the fact I am almost 30. I am going to start with the bedroom. The bed in the center of attraction, because it was in the center of the room, and was facing the main window that had a view of the lush green compound and also the sea view, that is the view I won’t be opposed to waking up to every day. Since I was staying alone I had a single room, with a sitting room and a huge bathroom that seemed like I am have dreamt it up, again I am growing older.
If you book this room, you get a small veranda, with exclusive entry to the pool, the minute you leave your room. Check out the rooms
The Food & Staff
I am a foodie… so I tend to judge a place by the food they serve and the presentation. So the food was amazing and the menu caters to everyone and it will please everyone’s different taste buds. Dinner is server al carte meaning you order an already established menu, and you can decide to eat under the stars if you are willing to brave the wind, Dinner was severed in one of the in house restaurants, they have two one is located in the main building and is called MAMBRUI RESTAURANT and where I had dinner is next to the ocean is called FORODHANI BEACH RESTAURANT & BAR.
There is also,BUSTANI LOUNGE BAR, where you can chill and have a beer.
Ps, each booking of a room is on a half-board basis, for additionally $25 per person during low and shoulder season and $40 during peak season. you will get full broad.
The staff, is friendly and are ready to carter to any of your needs.
There is an in house space a gym and a spa called Barizi Spa and also a yoga deck, which my favorite place. It is very peaceful and you get an overhead view of the whole establishment.
It is a reasonably priced establishment, the price ranges between $200-$1,200 for international visitors(non-residents).
It is 14,000kshs to 115,000 kshs,( for locals and East African residents) depending on the type of room you book and the season meaning the time of the month it is. Check the prices on the Silver Palm website.
Experience; 5/5 (if you are looking for a place that is a little off the grid, to stay in peace and enjoy time alone or with your loved one)
