So the beginning of each May signals is that time again for the Met gala which was held last week the theme of this year was honor Rei Kawakubo/ Comme des Garçons, which is the art of in-between,” Comme des Garçons“ is means like some boys. Attending this is on my bucket list, has well of working during the event from the beginning to the day of the event
Rei Kawakubo was honor for her contribution to the fashion industry. Most people rarely understand that fashion is an art form, that what you wear is considered art especially when it comes to haute couture, fashion is an art from that has live models who walk around show casing the designers creation.
Rei is considered the most influential avant-garde style of design. Avant-garde is the most versatile form of art that translates from a Canvas, Sculpture, and Fashion, her clothes I consider them art pieces that can easily blend in an art museum, net to painting, these clothes deserved to be displayed.
The celebrities fully embrace this theme, unlike last year where the theme was sort lost on some people this time people came to play.
Some of my Favorites Quotes from Rei:
“I make clothes for a woman who is not swayed by what her husband thinks.”
“Comme des Garcons is a gift to oneself, not something to appeal or to attract the opposite sex”
The pictures are some of the celebrities that stood out for me.
